Goalie Anders Lindback Clears Waivers, Assigned to Texas

Goalie Anders Lindback has cleared waivers and was assigned to Texas this afternoon. He will join the team on their roadtrip in New York. When asked if Lindback would get a start this weekend on the road trip, Coach Laxdal said he would cross that bridge when he came to it.

Jussi Rynnas, who was called up yesterday, will start tonight in Detroit for Dallas.

Here's the release:
The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, announced today goaltender Anders Lindback has been assigned to the club from Dallas.

Lindback (LIHND-bak, AHN-dehrs), 26, has appeared in five games with Dallas this season and holds a record of 0-5-0 with an .861 save percentage and a 4.63 goals against average. The goaltender owns a career 34-40-5 record with a 2.84 GAA and a .902 SV% with three shutouts in 90 career regular-season appearances with Nashville, Tampa Bay and Dallas.

The 6-foot-6, 215-pound native of Gavle, Sweden was originally selected by Nashville in the seventh round (207th overall) of the 2008 NHL Draft, and was signed by Dallas as a free agent on July 1, 2014.

  1. This is good news considering we have been less than stellar in goal this year. Hopefully he doesn't think he is to good for the AHL and we get a Raycroft effect.
