April 10th at 7:30 PM
Cedar Park Center, Cedar Park, TX
Texas welcomes Hamilton to the Cedar Park Center tonight for the first time this season. With Toronto in pole position for the final playoff spot, Hamilton is making a final push for the postseason. They have five games left tonight to get in. To say these games are big for the Bulldogs is an understatement. The Stars won one and lost one against Hamilton earlier this season with both games being played in December. Hamilton won by three in the first, and Texas won by one in OT in the other.
AHL All-Rookie Charles Hudon is a big player to watch for. Hudon has 55 points in 71 games as a rookie. He's the #2 scorer on the team behind the venerable and reliable TJ Hensick at 56. Another rookie, Mike Condon, leads the Bulldogs in net with a 2.31 GAA and .924 SV% in 44 games. Joey MacDonald, familiar to most from his time in Grand Rapids, is the backup with 27 games under his belt and a 2.77 GAA with a .910 SV%. Condon has started 8 of the last 9 games.
On the Texas side, while Cole Ully and Brett Pollock have joined Texas, neither is expected to play. The Stars should roll a similar lineup for tonight at least as in their past games this week. They're riding a four game winning streak. Curtis McKenzie, Derek Meech and Jussi Rynnas are all day-to-day.
