After a long layoff, Texas is back in action tonight for the first of a three-game set this weekend in Illinois. Interestingly, they will be playing a Chicago squad that also only has one game under their belt.
The Wolves are still affiliated with the St. Louis Blues and much of the supported cast is back for another go-round. Ty Rattie is leading the Wolves in scoring with 2-1-3 and probably won't be in the AHL too much longer. Andre Benoit dished out three assists in their first game to lead all defensemen. Pat Cannone is another vet name you might remember. Jordan Binnington returns in net with a new backup, Phoenix Copley, who came from the Eastern Conference.
Texas had a full week to analyze Saturday's game. Maybe that was too long? Maybe just enough? The weekend will tell, but it's good that they've got the rest. It's a bizarre scheduling selection that puts them on their first 3-in-3 so early in the season.
One note that Texas might lose a player to callup before the game is played. Curtis McKenzie left last night's Dallas game in Tampa after being boarded and heading to the hospital.
Stars injury/call up report:
McKenzie, Campbell (callup)
Braes (team suspension)

Hopefully their day of teamwork at Fort Hood will serve them well.
ReplyDeleteWhat is a team suspension and why is Braes on one?
The team suspension can have multiple meanings. Sometimes it's disciplinary. Sometimes it is not. The team has released no information regarding the nature of Braes' suspension.

DeleteSomeone needs to remind Dallas to NOT break things (e.g. people) that they "borrow"!!! First Campbell, now McKenzie! Sigh....
