Here's the release:
The American Hockey League announced today that Texas Stars center Devin Shore has been selected as the CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 18, 2015.
Shore scored five goals and added one assist for a total of six points in helping the Stars collect three impressive road victories last week.
On Friday night at Chicago, Shore scored twice – including the tiebreaking goal late in the second period – as Texas defeated the Wolves, 7-3. On Saturday in Rockford, Shore registered his first pro hat trick to lead the Stars past the IceHogs, 5-2. And on Sunday evening, Shore contributed an assist in Texas’ 7-2 win over Rockford.
A 21-year-old native of Ajax, Ont., Shore ranks second in the AHL with six goals and seven points in four games to begin his rookie professional season with Texas. Shore joined the Stars organization following three years at the University of Maine, making his pro debut last spring and tallying four goals and two assists in 19 AHL games in 2014-15. Shore was selected by the Dallas Stars in the second round (61st overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
In recognition of his achievement, Shore will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Stars home game.
