Texas left no doubt today in Rockford as they swept the weekend's 3-in-3 set with a 7-2 victory in Rockford. Texas is 4-0 to start the season for the first time in team history.

Greg Rallo scored a pair and Matej Stransky and Esa Lindell each had a goal and an assist. Derek Hulak and Jason Dickinson each notched two assists, and Maxime Lagace picked up his second win of the season in as many starts.

Remi Elie scored a late power play goal to put Texas up 7-2; it was his first professional goal.

In the first, Greg Rallo tallied his third and fourth of the season in the first period, the latter on the power play. By the halfway point of the period, Texas would have all the goals they would need after Matej Stransky scored on a deflection. The goal was his second of the season.

The Stars kept the foot down on the throttle in the second with Branden Troock opening the scoring just 33 seconds into the frame. Newcomer Cory Kane picked up his first point as a Star with the primary assist on the goal.

Texas exploded in the third period for two more goals. Gemel Smith scored unassisted, kissing one off the post and in. Matej Stransky dropped the puck to Esa Lindell just over a minute later for Lindell's first goal of the season and the 6-0 lead.

Rockford poured it on in an attempt to get something going. Ryan Haggerty broke up the shutout bid at 6:28 of the third. At four-on-four shortly thereafter, Texas' Remi Elie put the puck right on the stick of Jeremy Morin on a bad clearing attempt for the IceHogs' second goal of the night.

Texas returns home for just their second home game of the year on Wednesday, having swept their 3-in-3 in Illinois.
