Texas Stars 15-13-2-2, 34 pts #5 Pacific Division | v. | San Antonio Rampage 14-11-6-0, 34 pts #3 Pacific Division |
December 29th at 7:00 PM
Cedar Park Center, Cedar Park, TX
NOTE: Tonight's game starts at 7 PM.
It's the rubber match between the I-35 rivalry teams. The mini-series between the two concludes tonight with Texas getting home ice for the 'deciding' game 3.
It looks like Maxime Lagace provided at least some cover for the Texas defensive corps, stopping 34 of 36 in San Antonio on Sunday. It would not be surprising if, given the day of rest, Lagace started again for the Stars. Meanwhile San Antonio is still the same team they were this weekend. Without Calvin Pickard, Mikko Rantanen and several others, now is the time to strike a divisional opponent while they are down.
Speaking of being down, news broke over the weekend that Devin Shore is done for the season. Sean Shapiro had the update after speaking with Scott White, who revealed shoulder surgery has ended the rookie's season.
How much more can be written about these two teams right now? Win the game and setup a nice 3 games in 4 stretch against more divisional opponents this weekend.
Stars injury/call up report:
Shore (shoulder surgery, out for season)
