The Texas Stars are back to even with their callup situation. Gemel Smith returned to the club this morning and will meet the team in Grand Rapids. Smith did not play last night against Colorado, so he is likely to be able to play in both games this weekend (as long as he can get to Grand Rapids in time).

Here's the release:
Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has reassigned forward Gemel Smith to the Texas Stars, Dallas' top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.

Smith, 22, posted three points (2-1=3), 21 penalty minutes and a +1 plus/minus rating in 12 games played for Dallas. He made his NHL debut on Oct. 22 vs. Columbus and scored his first two career NHL goals on Nov. 6 at Chicago. With Texas this season, he has recorded one goal (1-0=1) with a +2 plus/minus rating and seven shots on goal in three games.

The 5-foot-10, 190-pound native of Toronto, Ont. was originally selected by Dallas in the fourth round (104th overall) in the 2012 NHL Draft.
