Nick Ebert Uses Streaky Scoring to Help Texas Best Iowa 3-2 in OT

Nick Ebert continued his streaky scoring ways as Texas topped Iowa in Des Moines by a 3-2 overtime score. The defenseman has 10 points on the season but four of those have come in multi-point games. Tonight's contest was a two-goal affair as Ebert scored both the go-ahead goal and the winner.

Iowa got on the board first with a rebound goal from Kurtis Gabriel. The score stayed at 1-0 until the third period. Within 20 seconds of each other, Matt Mangene and Ebert scored to push Texas to a 2-1 lead at the halfway mark of the period. Mangene turned on the jets for his breakaway goal and Ebert used the power in his shot to thread the needle past Alex Stalock for the 2-1 advantage.

Sam Anas would tie the game with the goalie pulled and just 6 seconds left on the clock. Maxime Fortunus, former Stars captain, had the primary assist on the goal after volleying the initial shot on Landon Bow.

Nick Ebert would tip his goal past Stalock two minutes into the extra frame for the final score of 3-2. Landon Bow collected the win with 24 saves on 26 shots. Neither team scored on the power play in the game.
