Austin Fyten has been suspended one game by the league for an illegal check to the head against Manitoba. He'll miss Friday's game against Bakersfield. Branden Troock's recall makes a lot more sense in light of this news. Here's the release:
The American Hockey League announced Thursday forward Austin Fyten has been suspended for one (1) game as a consequence of an illegal check to the head of an opponent in a game vs. Manitoba on Jan. 24.
Fyten was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline). He will miss Texas’s game Friday (Jan. 27) vs. Bakersfield.
