As Texas has slumped, Bakersfield has surged. On a three-game winning streak, the Condors find themselves in playoff position as they approach tonight's game at home against the Stars. Meanwhile, Texas is looking to avoid tying its worst ever losing streak tonight at six games.
Without Remi Elie in the lineup, Texas is slightly more sparse on forwards. More concerning is that Denis Gurianov's day-to-day injury that he was slated to return from last Wednesday has now kept him out for the entirety of the road trip. Coach Laxdal noted it wasn't an issue that he picked up in a game, he just felt uncomfortable when he woke up the morning of the last home game. He hasn't played since.
At this point, there isn't much more to write. Win the game. Stockton was a good chance to break the streak, but if they can't win tonight, they'll get red-hot San Jose tomorrow. Their 14-game winning streak will likely mow over the Stars.
Stars injury/call up report:
Elie (call up)
Gurianov (lower body injury, day-to-day)
