Texas Stars Release Bryce Van Brabant; Forward Will Head to Idaho

The Texas Stars have released Bryce Van Brabant from his tryout agreement with the team. Van Brabant was signed out of training camp to help plug significant lineup holes brought on by the Dallas Stars' injury woes. Texas now has Caleb Herbert as 13th forward and Justin Dowling on the mend from a hand injury. Van Brabant was originally signed on an ECHL deal with Idaho and got a training camp invite that he made the most of. He will head to Boise now, joining a Steelheads squad mired in an 0-4-2 losing skid.

The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, announced Tuesday the team has released forward Bryce Van Brabant from his professional tryout agreement.

Van Brabant (van BRAY-bant), 25, began the season with Texas after signing a tryout agreement in training camp. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound forward appeared in 21 games this season for the Stars with a goal and an assist.
