With last night's win, Texas now sits in rarefied air. At 3-0, the Stars are one of only five remaining undefeated teams in the AHL after a week of play. The others are all in other divisions: Providence, Laval, Rockford and Milwaukee. Among those, only Laval has played three games like the Stars.

So what's working?

While the team has definitely had issues prevented power play goals, it's very clear they can score them. Well, it's clear that they can score, full stop. Among teams with more than one game played, only Laval has scored more than the Stars this season so far (5.67 G/GP vs. 5.00).

Texas has a good shooting percentage at the moment (17%) and a poorer than desired save percentage. The team has to assume that the shooting percentage will dip, so the save percentage needs to increase to compensate for not scoring as many goals. Look for whether Texas can get another one-goal-against performance tonight.

Also, watch out for who starts in net. Mike McKenna has started all three games so far and Landon Bow has to figure in at some point. Is tonight that point?
