Texas comes right back at it tonight with the same opponent. Last night's game looked promising at 6-3 but finished worrisome at 6-5. It's clear the scoring is there, but Chicago is a deep club, too. Texas looked overmatched in the defensive zone at times. However, it was game 1 of a 76 game schedule.

"We’ve got to take it to them early and push the pace," said Jason Dickinson. "It’s going to be a matter of us playing our game and not trying to defend theirs."

Coach Laxdal noted that the team allowed goal under pressure and had a number of failed clears that gave the Wolves life on otherwise dead plays. "We didn’t handle the pressure great and that’s when you’re trying to find how a young team will react."

Asked about getting those clears, Sheldon Dries noted, "That’s on us. We have pucks on our sticks, we need to bear down and get them out. So we’ll learn from this and work on it for next game."

Mike McKenna is expected in net for the Stars again. He faced 33 shots last night and got the win. Another item to watch tonight will be the choice of veteran scratches. Last night those were Greg Rallo and Mark McNeill.
