Texas Stars Assign Chris Martenet to the ECHL; Dallas Seeking a Forward Recall?

Defender Chris Martenet, who missed all of training camp and the preseason, has been assigned to the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads this morning. He missed time suffering from mononucleosis. It's not clear what his timeline is to rejoin practices and games. Martenet was slated for the ECHL from the outside by my estimation, so this is not unexpected.

Martin Hanzal's absence from the second half of last night's game in Dallas might necessitate a forward recall from Texas. My bet, if it happens, is Jason Dickinson. The center had three goals on the weekend, including the winner last night.

Also worth watching: Dallas placed Adam Cracknell on waivers this morning. We won't know if he clearsuntil 11 AM CST on Monday. If so, it's not clear if he would be assigned.
