Texas Stars Assign Max French to ECHL Idaho Steelheads

The Texas Stars have sent Max French to the ECHL this afternoon ahead of their road trip to California and points beyond. The rookie forward played a signle game in Idaho to start the season, taking two penalties and recording seven shots.

This is the best sign yet that Brian Flynn will return to the lineup after a long absence on Wednesday. Flynn last played on December 27th, missing five games.

The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, announced Tuesday the team has reassigned forward Max French to their ECHL affiliate, the Idaho Steelheads.

French, 25, has appeared in 25 games this season for Texas and tallied six points (3-3=6). The 5-foot-10, 185-pound forward is currently in his rookie season after finishing a four-year career at Bentley University (NCAA). The West Kelowna, British Columbia native scored his first career goal on Nov. 8 in a 6-2 win at San Diego. He was signed to an AHL contract with the Stars over the summer.
