The Stars collected a shootout win in Chicago this evening to finish their road trip on a high note. Coming into the contest, they had compiled just one point in three games on the trip. Tonight's game was a tight one with Landon Bow allowing just one on 30 shots against through 65 minutes.

Justin Dowling pierced Oscar Dansk early in the first on a cram play, atypical for the centerman. Brian Flynn had the initial shot off the pass from Curtis McKenzie below the line. Dowling went to the net and got the rebound under Dansk and in. It would be the lone goal Texas collected in regulation and OT.

Chicago's always lethal Brandon Pirri got the Wolves' marker in the second period. Philip Holm found Pirri uncovered crashing the net. Pirri redirected the pass backhand past Bow on the far side for the tie score.

With nothing doing in the third period or OT, the two teams went to the shootout. Brian Flynn and Tomas Hyka scored for their clubs to tie things at one. Teemu Pulkkinen missed, but Travis Morin didn't in the third round, sealing the victory.

Texas has a few days off before facing Stockton at home on Wednesday night.
