Texas Stars End Disastrous Road Trip with 4-2 Loss

Texas seemed to have pole position at the halfway point of tonight's contest before ceding three in 78 seconds and falling for the third straight game by a final of 4-2. The game outcome continued Texas's death spiral trend of only winning one game in each series since March 6th. The club is 5-12-2 in that time.

Cole Schneider and Joseph Cecconi were the Stars goal scorers in the early second period but then things came apart. First, on the penalty kill, neither Ryan Shea nor Ben Gleason picked up Scott Reedy coming in for the deflection of Ryan Merkley's initial shot.

On the ensuing play, Texas failed twice to get clears off the stick of Riley Damiani and Max Martin, ultimately finding the puck behind Colton Point within a minute of the first San Jose goal. A misfire on a breakout by Adam Mascherin that put the puck in Shea's skates came back out to Ivan Chekhovich and it was 3-2 Barracuda.

Evan Weinger scored an empty net goal in the final two minutes of the third to set the final. Texas has eleven days off before their next game back at the H-E-B Center.
