The Dallas Stars recalled defenseman Dawson Barteaux to the Texas Stars from the Idaho Steelheads this afternoon.

Barteaux has recorded three assists in five games for the Steelheads so far this season. Following the injury suffered by Texas Stars defenseman Max Martin during Wednesday’s game in Colorado, Texas needed to add another defenseman to their roster. Barteaux played in 25 games for Texas last season and will now get a chance to return to the team.

With this callup, the Texas Stars have seven healthy defensemen available. Texas takes on San Jose twice this weekend and it will be intriguing to see how head coach Neil Graham integrates Barteaux into the lineup.

Here is the official press release:

The Texas Stars, American Hockey League Affiliate of the NHL's Dallas Stars, announced that defenseman Dawson Barteaux, has been recalled by the Dallas Stars from the club's ECHL affiliate to the Texas Stars.
