In a matchup between two of the worst teams in the AHL, the San Jose Barracuda topped Texas tonight in Cedar Park by a 7-6 final in the shooutout. The Stars trailed 5-3 after forty minutes and came back to tie things 6-on-5 in the final minute of the game, outscoring SJB 3-1 in the final frame. Among the thirteen goals scored in the contest, there were thirteen different goal scorers.

Adam Scheel started the game for Texas but was pulled when the game went to 4-3 for San Jose. He stopped just 14 of 18 before the pull. Matt Jurusik finished the game and took the OTL decision. Scheel just did not have what it took for the game tonight, but there is strong credit to the rest of the squad for not packing it in after going down 5-3 to end the second.

Goal scorers included, in order, Jeremy Gregoire, Ryan Shea, Fredrik Karlstrom, Anthony Louis, Curtis McKenzie and Ty Dellandrea. The Stars made the most of the game despite continued injury issues for the team. Anthony Louis just returned but Nick Caamano, Riley Damiani, Josh Melnick and Anton Khudobin all remain out with injuries.

The six goals Texas scored int he game were one short of their season record, which was set against these same Barracuda. All in all, San Jose and Texas have not played a lot of defensive hockey between themselves on the year. Games with final scores of 7-3, 7-5, and now 7-6 are already in the books.

Texas laces them up again tomorrow for a contest against these same Barracuda before starting their longest road trip of the season.

Notes:
Caamano, Melnick, Damiani, Khudobin (injured)
