Riley Damiani was the lone goal scorer for the Texas Stars this evening as they lost a tight one to the host Chicago Wolves in Rosemont. The final 2-1 score handed Texas a regulation loss to end their season-long roadtrip at 3-3-0-1, an even mark overall.  The Stars had flirted with .500 twice on the roadtrip but now sit three below the mark at 18-21-5-5.

Damiani's goal was the first scoring action of the game. Coming off two unsuccessful power plays, the forward scooped up a loose puck to set the score at 1-0 on the assist from Rhett Gardner and Ty Dellandrea. Texas would kill a full two-minute 5-on-3 situation to end the frame up 1-0 on a shot lead of 9-5.

The Wolves bit back in the second with a rebound shot beating Matt Jurusik to even the score. In the third, Texas-native Stefan Noesen notched his 30th of the year off a redirection. Texas pummeled Pyotr Kochetkov throughout the game, finishing 31-22 on shots, but only pierced the armor once.

The Stars return home to play Charlotte on Tuesday and Wednesday.
