The Texas Stars had been a steady road winner in the early going of the season, notching victories across the Midwest on an early stint and another last night in Des Moines. This afternoon, the Wild fought back in a power-play-driven rematch with a 4-2 matinee victory over visiting Texas in front of 4,024.

The Stars fell behind 2-0 in the first 23 minutes of the contest with a pair of power play goals bracketing the first intermission. Jake Lucchini and Steven Fogarty's markers were both assisted by Sammy Walker and Nic Petan.

Texas came right back at them with a pair of their own power play goals. Following a shot from Kyle McDonald, Mavrik Bourque came up with the loose puck goal to make it 2-1. Late in the second, Lian Bichsel tied it with his first career AHL goal, a shot from the point.

The third period was all Iowa, however, as Texas did not register a shot on goal until 12:47 of the frame. Iowa was outshooting Texas 14-0 at that point and would go on to outshoot them 16-7 overall. The 11th of those shots was a goal from Adam Beckman, which would stand up as the game winner.

Matt Murray got the start again after a shutout last night and stopped 26 of 29. He came off with just over three minutes left but the Wild would ice it with an empty netter from their own zone with two minutes left.

Texas hits the road again to play Rockford at 10:30 AM on Wednesday.
