Texas Shuffles Defenders Ahead of Big Weekend at Home

The Texas Stars made a series of moves on defense this week with multiple moving parts.

First, the Stars signed Cody Haiskanen out of Idaho yesterday. The defenseman has been up and down on various AHL PTOs this season with Ontario and San Jose. In a corresponding move, the Stars released Michael Prapavessis after he played two games over the weekend on a PTO.

Today, Texas also assigned Ben Zloty to Idaho. Zloty is on an AHL contract and played four games in his stay over the past week. This is a hopeful sign for the health of Gavin White, who was out this past weekend after an injury sustained in Grand Rapids.

One notable non-transaction is Joel Hanley. The defenseman was on waivers yesterday but was claimed today by Calgary. He would have been assigned to Texas if he had cleared.
