The Dallas Stars assigned or released a total of 19 players this afternoon all destined for AHL camp with Texas, which is slated to being Wednesday in Cedar Park.
Dallas started including all AHL-signed players in their main camp several years ago and it's had a great effect in strengthening the bonds between all the team members. Also, the Stars do all intake and physical assessments in one place and don't have to redo it when AHL camp starts.
Texas is, once again, without preseason games due to the geographically isolated nature of the team in the AHL. They expect to open camp Wednesday and practice right up until the home opener against Henderson on Friday, October 11.
Here's the full list of players assigned or released today. All players released are on AHL contracts.
