The Dallas Stars have recalled defenseman Alex Petrovic this morning ahead of their game against San Jose this evening. Petrovic played a single regular season game last year and seven playoff contests. With Matt Dumba injured, Dallas is recalling Petrovic to serve in either the six or seven role.
The Stars could have recalled someone on Sunday, but given that everyone in Texas had just played back-to-back, it wouldn't have made much sense to insert anyone into the lineup.
Dallas heads out to DC after tonight, and it's always a good idea to have an extra body when you're on the road. Texas already has a few extra defensemen in tow and will not need a recall from Idaho. In Saturday's game, both Michael Karow and Gavin White were scratched.
In an unrelated move, the Stars assigned forward Justin Ertel, defenseman Connor Punnett and goaltender Ben Kraws to the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads.
