Just five days ago, Sean Chisholm was in college playing in the ECAC Semifinals for the Dartmouth Big Green in Lake Placid, New York. Fast forward, the former Big Green captain traded his Dartmouth green for Texas Stars green, signing his first professional contact yesterday.

With the ink still drying on the contract, Chisholm was primed and ready to make his professional debut against division rivals, the Grand Rapids Griffins Wednesday night. Scoring what ultimately was the game-winning goal, Chisholm claimed the game's third star as Texas shutout the Griffins, 4-0.

The game was fully in hand for the Stars as they headed into the final period, holding a firm 3-0 lead over the Griffins. With back-to-back goals in the middle frame, it did not take long for Texas to further their dominant lead in the final period.

Replacing Arttu Hyry on the second line, Chisholm was flanked on the wings by Cameron Hughes and Kole Lind. Chisholm finally got his first opportunity with the puck in the final frame.

Just over a minute into the final twenty, Hughes connected with the young forward in the Griffins zone. Skating up the right side and firing on the right face-off circle, Chisholm's initial shot was blocked by the pads of Griffins goaltender Jan Bednar.

Already in motion, Chisholm swiftly rebounded his shot. Just as he was about to skate behind the net, the young forward flicking the puck just above the shoulder of Bednar for his first professional goal and the game-winner for Texas.

Facing his former team, goaltender Magnus Hellberg captured his second shutout of the season stopping all 24 shots. Hellberg anchored the net, killing off both Griffins’ power play opportunities as he earned the game's first star and his 22nd victory of the year.

Matěj Blümel kicked off the Stars scoring in the opening period, finding the back of the net with a backhand shot in the slot. Gavin White and Matthew Seminoff each found their second goal of the season in the middle frame just 23 seconds apart from each other to take a 3-0 lead.

With the win over Grand Rapids, Texas is in control of the division's driver's seat, jumping the Milwaukee Admirals for first place in the Central as playoff seeding intensifies. The Stars' other college signees, Ayrton Martino and Trey Taylor, are set to make their professional debuts this weekend.

Texas is set to play the Cleveland Monsters this Friday at 6:00 PM at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
