Texas Will Face Milwaukee (Yet Again) in Second Round, Schedule Inside

For the third year in a row, the path to greater glory for the Texas Stars goes through Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Admirals defeated the IceHogs in a decisive Game 5 today, requiring overtime after the Hogs tied it up in the third.

The Ads own home ice advantage in the Central, so the battle starts in Cedar Park this week before shifting to Milwaukee for up to three more games, if necessary.

Game 1 – Thu., May 15 – Milwaukee at Texas, 7 CT
Game 2 – Sun., May 18 – Milwaukee at Texas, 7 CT
Game 3 – Wed., May 21 – Texas at Milwaukee, 7 CT
*Game 4 – Fri., May 23 – Texas at Milwaukee, 7 CT
*Game 5 – Sun., May 25 – Texas at Milwaukee, 6 CT
   *if necessary

Now is that squirrelly time of year when pre-planned arena events like graduations and short lead times on knowing you'll even need the ice yield somewhat odd playoff schedules. Unfortunately for the gate revenues, Texas will not be able to play on Friday or Saturday night at home, instead getting Thursday and Sunday. H-E-B Center will host Austin Community College graduation on Friday followed by a concert on Saturday night.

Also note that Sunday's game is a 7 PM start, which is the usual start time for any day but Sunday. I'd venture this has to do with the changeover from hard floor to ice.

Milwaukee ended Texas' season the last two years and is a frequent franchise foe in the playoffs. In 2024, Texas had a 2-0 lead going back to Milwaukee last year and lost all three in Wisconsin. In 2023, the Ads stunned division champ Texas with two victories in Cedar Park to take the series 3-2.

This year, Texas is 4-4 against Milwaukee.
