The Texas Stars (21-11-2-2, #3 West) had a total of five contest over the two week holiday period. With a 4 game road stretch included in that set, the Stars needed to continue their points streak to stay in competition in the crowded West Division. Much like the Western Conference in the NHL, the top 7 (of 8) teams in the AHL West Division are all within 6 points of each other. Texas ended the two week period on a seven-game point streak, which is a good start to staying in competition.
