Texas Stars 27-16-3-3, 60 pts #6 West Division | v. | Houston Aeros 29-19-1-3, 62 pts #4 West Division |
February 8th at 7:30 PM
Cedar Park Center, Cedar Park, TX
After being manhandled in Houston, the Stars welcome the Aeros into the Cedar Park Center. The only win the Stars have had over Houston came in Cedar Park on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. On the whole, the Stars are 1-5-1-1 against the Aeros, gaining a total of only four of a possible 16 points on the season. In a division where points are at a premium and against a divisional team, Texas has to do better.
The keys to Texas' success may have just returned from Dallas. Recent assignments Travis Morin (2g-5a-7p) and Colton Sceviour (2-3-5) lead the season series in points. Greg Rallo, Maxime Fortunus and Dan Spang round out the top five.
With two top caliber netminders at his disposal, Coach Gulutzan will have nightly decisions to make for the first time in three months. Bachman has performed beyond expectations, starting in 18 of the last 20 Texas Stars games. He is ranked #6 in the league goalie rankings and is tied in GAA with AHL All-Star starter Jake Allen of Peoria.
I believe Coach Gulutzan went with Krahn in net on Friday to shake things up a bit against a team that had snakebitten the Stars in the past. With Krahn having taken his shot, it will be interesting to see who goes tonight in Cedar Park.

Any word on Sawada's injury after the cheap shot? Also, why was Ludwig scratched from Saturday's game? With the lack of bodies on the roster right now, it has to be an injury right?
ReplyDeleteApparently Sawada skated the other day in Dallas. Not sure on Ludwig. Will follow up tonight.
