Milwaukee leads 3-2

The Stars face elimination tonight against the Milwaukee Admirals at the Bradley Center. In elimination games, Texas has a historical record of 3-1 based on only one year of existence.
Texas is pulling from those experiences from last year to motivate and inspire them for this year. "All we can do is look to the next game," said Matt Stephenson after Friday's loss. "Some of us have been in this situation before. We went back to Hamilton and took two in their barn. We're going to try to use that."
Indeed, last year's club was in a similar situation after a game five loss to the Bulldogs at Cedar Park Center. The Stars came back from two one goal deficits in game six to win it in overtime and force game seven. In the seventh game, Hamilton broke out a two goal lead before roared back with a goal in the second and three in the third to make it 4-2.
Stephenson, who had some of his better offensive play of the year in those two games with three assists and a plus-4 rating, spoke to the mindset going into Milwaukee. "Play loose; don't panic. Stay to your identity and anything can happen with crazy bounces."
With that said, it's more of the same for Texas and Milwaukee tonight. Texas did a great job of getting the early jump on the Ads in Friday's game but was unable to seal the deal in the final minute. The Stars even had a chance at an empty net once or twice but were unable to make it a 2-0 game late.
So not only does Texas need a great start, they need a great finish. That is what defensive teams should be known for. Texas will be out to prove that their identity is what they say it is, a strong defensive club, tonight in Milwaukee. With their season on the line, sixty minutes or maybe more of play-your-brains-out hockey will be required to get it to seven.
