Clear Day Today, But No Rosters Before Tomorrow

Along with the other 29 teams, Texas must submit their Clear Day roster to the league today at 3 PM EST (2 PM Central). While that will happen at two, no one outside the organization will see the roster until 10 AM EST tomorrow, due to new rules put in place by the league this year. As a quick refresher on what the Clear Day roster is, here's the AHL's explanation:
Each Clear Day roster consists of a maximum of 22 players. According to AHL by-laws, only those players listed on a team’s Clear Day roster are eligible to compete in the remainder of the AHL regular season and in the Calder Cup Playoffs, unless emergency conditions arise as a result of recall, injury or suspension.

Teams may also add signed junior players or players on amateur tryout contracts, only after their respective junior or college seasons are complete.
After today, we will have a good discussion brewing on the expected ATOs. Last year's ATOs included headliners Dillon and Glennie out of juniors but also Stephen Schultz and Mike Embach out of college.

  1. If I remember correctly, last year at Clear Day was the same day as that awful matinee game against Syracuse, and also the last time we all saw Scott McCulloch in a Stars jersey.
