After the other night's offensive fireworks, the Checkers and Stars combined for just three goals in the rematch tonight in Charlotte. It was the home team Checkers ending up on the winning side of this battle, beating Jack Campbell twice. Drew MacIntyre, who started tonight's game after being pulled in Saturday's contest, only allowed a single marker in the game, stopping 27 of 28.

The Stars got off to an inauspicious start on the power play. Texas allowed their second shorthanded goal against of the season off the stick of Brendan Woods. Jack Campbell handled the initial bid by Danny Biega but gave up a large rebound to Woods for the goal.

Texas knotted things at one in the second period with Travis Morin's one-time goal, his sixth of the season. Derek Meech, paired tonight with William Wrenn, got the primary assist. Matej Stranksy got his first point of the season with a second assist on the play.

Five minutes later, the Stars would give up a goal to Greg Nemisz, who moved out of the corner to beat the goalie and regain the Checkers' lead.

The Stars got a lot of power play time but could not make it count. Brett Sutter scored into the empty net with under a minute left and the Stars dropped to 6-3-2-0 on the season. They will play again on Friday in Grand Rapids.
