The Dallas Stars released or assigned a significant number of players this morning after last night's preseason victory against St. Louis. A group of players was also placed on waivers with intent to assign if they all clear. All of the players assigned were expected to be with Texas this season, except for Colin Markison, so nothing comes as a surprise here. Marksion does not have an AHL camp and Texas has not confirmed if he will be in camp with the AHL side this week.

Here are the breakdowns:

PLAYER POS. STATUS
Gavin Bayreuther D Loaned to Texas (AHL)
Landon Bow G Loaned to Texas (AHL)
Philippe Desrosiers G Loaned to Texas (AHL)
Sheldon Dries C Released from Amateur Tryout
Max French C Released from Amateur Tryout

Additionally, Andrew Bodnarchuk, Ludwig Bystrom, Justin Dowling, Mike McKenna, and Mark McNeill were all placed on waivers. (If you need a refresher on waivers, check out the 100 Degree Hockey Glossary)
