The Pacific division squared off against the North division in the final game of the AHL All Star challenge round robin style tournament. Until that game, the Pacific went a perfect 3-0-0-0. C.J. Smith of the Rochester Americans scored the lone goal in the contest and won MVP of the night.
With a recent injury to Curtis McKenzie, the Texas Stars did not send a player to the All Star festivities.
According to AHL president Dave Andrews, this was the last year we would have seen any of the Texas Stars suit up for the Pacific division as the league appears headed for some realignment with the Stars likely headed to the Central division along with the San Antonio Rampage.
