The Texas Stars already started the season last night with a slightly diminished roster. Nick Caamano and Rhett Gardner were recalled at the roster deadline Friday afternoon. Both are expected to make their NHL debut today against St. Louis. Further, Dallas recalled two more skaters this morning. Joel Hanley and Joel L'Esperance both made the trip to Missouri after playing in last night's Texas home opener.

The AHL club has signed Conner Bleackley on a PTO following all the upward motion. It is the first in-season professional tryout that Texas has signed in two seasons. Over the past two years, Texas has done an excellent job of having the right personnel already on AHL-ECHL deals in Idaho. Bleackley is in Idaho, to be clear, but wasn't one of those already signed to an AHL deal. He was in Texas in training camp, however.

Texas will lean more heavily on its already young forward corps to put up their first goal of the season against the Moose.
