The Stars collected just one point of eight possible on the trip, setting their record at 3-5-0-2. Texas still has just one regulation win on the season.
The first period was a clean sheet on both sides despite 25 combined shots. Conner Bleackley had the most significant scoring chance of the period, breaking in alone following a penalty kill and ringing one off the crossbar with seven minutes left in the first. The crossbar was a common theme in the contest as Brad McClure and Joel L'Esperance both had crossbar ringers in the second.
Within the first five minutes of the second though, Milwaukee had opened a two goal lead: Laurent Dauphin in tight and Mathieu Olivier on a wraparound. The Stars jumped back into the game with Emil Djuse's second of the year, a power play goal from the point. The marker was initially given to Adam Mascherin put later review showed he did not touch the puck on its way past Connor Ingram.
A L'Esperance tap-in off the initial shot from Joel Kiviranta tied the score to start the third period. It was only 100 seconds later that Milwaukee scored on an unfortunate goal from behind the goal line off Oettinger's back. Daniel Carr's first of the year, a tip on Frederic Allard's shot, was the insurance tally that the Admirals needed to salt it away. Freddy Gaudreau and Tanner Jeannot would add one each to set the final at 6-2.
The Stars will return home to play San Antonio on Friday and Saturday, home and away respectively.
