Jake Oettinger and Colton Point Set as Texas Goalie Tandem for Coming Year

After today's signing of Anton Khudobin by Dallas and Landon Bow not getting a qualifying offer earlier this week, the Texas Stars seem to have their goalie tandem solidified. In a press conference this afternoon, Jim Nill stated clearly that the tandem would be Jake Oettinger and Colton Point.

Point has been in the Dallas system for two years and is coming into the final year of his entry-level deal. He has not been able to grab a steady role in the AHL, spending most of the last two seasons in Idaho. Nill noted that it's time for Point to grab a role with Texas and that he feels confident with that pairing.

When that season starts is anyone's guess, but the club in Cedar Park has its goalies established for the time being. Nill noted on today's call that the AHL will not be starting before the NHL in any case.
