After a delay to the start of their season due to a COVID outbreak, the Dallas Stars have made their first major round of assignments to the AHL, sending eight players to the minor league club. Those players are

  • (D) Joseph Cecconi
  • (C) Riley Damiani
  • (LW) Tye Felhaber
  • (D) Ben Gleason
  • (LW) Adam Mascherin
  • (D) Jerad Rosburg
  • (D) Ryan Shea
  • (LW) Riley Tufte
They will join the already-assigned Dawson Barteaux and Texas signee Anthony Louis on the AHL roster. Tanner Kero has already cleared waivers in Dallas and may be assigned at anytime while Julius Honka was placed on waivers today. Either player could also remain in Dallas on the taxi squad, which requires waivers as well.

There is no word from the team on when Texas's training camp is set to begin. The club doesn't even have a schedule yet. However, given previous training camp calendars, they could begin camp as late as the week of their first game (1 February), since there will be no preseason games.

Many of the Stars' front office staff just began work again in the past week and have a large task ahead of them to prepare for the season. At this current moment, the Stars do plan to host fans in the arena for home games.
