Another COVID postponement has struck Texas as this weekend's games against the Charlotte Checkers have been postponed. The release indicates that COVID protocols are affecting both Charlotte and Texas. The Stars had positive cases before Christmas and were under enhanced testing with daily tests for all team members before the team left for the holiday break.
With next week's games being against cross-border opponent Manitoba, it is more likely than not that those games will be postponed as well. The next game on the schedule thereafter is January 15th, also against the Checkers.
Here is the release:
The American Hockey League today announced that due to league COVID-19 protocols involving the Charlotte Checkers and Texas Stars, the teams’ two games scheduled for Friday, Dec. 31 (AHL Game #434) and Saturday, Jan. 1 (AHL Game #442) have been postponed.
The Checkers and Stars organizations continue to follow enhanced protocols at the direction of team medical staff and the AHL.
Make-up dates have yet to be determined. All tickets purchased for both games will be honored for the rescheduled game dates, which will be announced later.
