Dallas put pen to paper with two RFA forwards as Nick Caamano and Fredrik Karlstrom both signed one-year, two-way deals. Between the two of them, only Karlstrom spent any time in Dallas, a limited three-game stint at the end of the season.
It was a down year for Caamano, who only tallied 14 points in 47 games and was not on the recall radar for the NHL club. Regardless, Caamano played all of 2020-21 in the NHL between the roster and the taxi squad. Dallas surely hopes he can regain that elevation in the coming season.
Fredrik Karlstrom had a strong first year as a North American pro, notching 29 points in 65 games. He was often paired with countryman Oskar Back in a defensive role.
Six unsigned RFAs remain for Dallas: Ben Gleason, Jordan Kawaguchi, Alexey Lipanov, Colton Point, Ryan Shea and Riley Tufte.
