As the NHL prepares for tonight's entry draft, Texas Stars fans will certainly be excited at the prospect of these prospects joining the team in Cedar Park in short order. The question is: how short is that order?
Here's a look at this year's Texas Stars who were Dallas-drafted and when they were drafted.
Remember that the pandemic shifted timelines for players like Thomas Harley, who came to the AHL a year earlier than originally planned, and Fredrik Karlstrom and Oskar Back, who came a year later from Europe.
Based on all of this, you can expect the 2022 Draft class to be most likely to be lacing up the skates for Texas in October 2024 or 2025.
