The Stars announced their season schedule in conjunction with the rest of the AHL this afternoon. Texas will play 72 games starting Friday, October 11th against Henderson and concluding April 18th at home against Manitoba.

Along the way, the Stars will play eight games against each of their six divisional opponents and four games against five conference opponents: Coachella Valley, Colorado, Henderson, Ontario and Tucson.

Their contests against Henderson will be the first time the franchises have met in their current incarnation. The Silver Knights were previously located in San Antonio as the Rampage and left unceremoniously after the end of the COVID-shortened 2019-2020 season.

Surprisingly, Texas will see an Eastern Conference opponent with Cleveland matching up against the Stars four times in the season. Those games come incredibly late in the year with the entire series lasting just 15 days (March 14-March 29).

Of note, the longest road trip is similar to last year, a Pacific coast swing that sees Texas take on Ontario, Coachella and Henderson from November 29 to December 8. Their longest home stand is February 21 to March 2 with six games against Colorado, Grand Rapids and Chicago.

As is tradition, the Stars will play heavily on Fridays and Saturdays at home. They add four Sunday games to the mix as well, all at 5 PM. All other home games start at the standard 7 PM CT. Texas avoids the school day game in Chicago this year but instead plays one in Milwaukee on March 5. That start time will be 10:30 AM.

Staring at the schedule and blurring your eyes a bit, you can see a lot of dots in March, as always. It's a heavy month traditionally and this year is no exception. Fourteen games will span the 31 days. If you include late February and early April, it's 22 games in 45 days. Rough sledding no matter how you cut it.
