This week, I'll be introducing six new writers here at 100 Degree Hockey. I've spread out the introductions across the three days leading up to opening night on Friday. Today, we welcome our first two writers, both of whom you've already heard from here.
First up, Robert Valentino. Robert has already been in front of your eyes twice with a pair of posts from Dallas training camp. Robert will mostly be covering away games from his home in Frisco.
I am proud to be joining 100 Degree Hockey as a staff writer for the upcoming 2024-2025 season. Creating content for 100 Degree Hockey is a privilege, and I am looking forward to providing my own perspective on the development Stars prospects as they work their way up to the NHL level.
I have always been passionate about sports, especially hockey since I was very young. Prior to there being a Dallas Stars franchise, I played hockey at the youth level in the Dallas Junior Hockey Association. So, when the Stars relocated from Minnesota, I became an instant fan of the team.
The Dallas Stars franchise is one of the most well respected franchises in the NHL for developing talent. With a proven methodology and track record, it will be exciting to report on the next wave of Texas Stars prospects as they navigate through the upcoming AHL season.
Second, Christian Chambers. Some of you may be familiar with Christian from his work on Starcastic Remarks, a Dallas Stars podcast entering its sixth year. He has also already written here with an article on Game 2 in Traverse City. Christian is here in Austin, so he will be covering home and away games as well as select feature work.
I am thrilled to join 100 Degree Hockey! I am a born and raised die-hard Dallas Stars fan. As a child, I absolutely refused to take off my Mike Modano jersey, forcing my mother to wash it in secret while I slept. I learned to walk using two mini hockey sticks, and I have various scars from intense street hockey battles with my five brothers. I am also a co-host of Starcastic Remarks, a Dallas Stars podcast that I produce with two of my brothers. In summary, I am in love with hockey. With my move to Austin last year, I got my live hockey fix from the Texas Stars and was greeted with one of the most exciting hockey teams in the AHL. The Texas Stars have a great combination of tested veterans, brilliant coaches, and promising young talent. The amount of development and growth that this team is bound to experience will be exciting to cover.Throughout my fandom I have read 100 Degree Hockey to get the scoop on the next generation of Dallas Stars players and to track their development. I can not wait to begin creating the Texas Stars content I once consumed and to bring you the coverage that this great team in Cedar Park deserves. I want to thank Stephen for this opportunity, and I cannot wait to watch the Texas Stars with all of you this season.
