Two Games Left: Here's How Texas Can Win the Division

Some were more confident than others, but the fact remains that despite a season-long five-game losing streak at the worst possible time, there's still a chance for Texas to take the Central Division title.

With that being said, it is no longer entirely up to them.

Milwaukee sits at 89 points and leads the division but only has one game left to play. They can make it to 91 points if they beat Chicago on Friday. Texas has 87 points and two games left against a non-playoff Manitoba club in Cedar Park. They can max out at 91 points.

Unfortunately for Texas, the Ads hold the tiebreaker of regulation wins with 35 already, a mark Texas cannot meet or beat with their current total at 32 and the best they can achieve falling short at 34.

So here's the matrix.
  • If Milwaukee wins on Friday,
    • Texas cannot win the division.
  • If Milwaukee loses on Friday in regulation,
    • Texas needs three points to win the division.
  • If Milwaukee loses on Friday in OT/SO,
    • Texas needs four points to win the division.
This weekend's games will be appointment viewing no matter what.
